FULL Showcase Schedule posted!

Welcome to the 3rd annual Classic City Fringe Festival!

You may have already noticed the posters up all around town, and if you look closely you will see that many of those posters have the full “CCFF 2017 Schedule” right there on them! We have even more posters up at the CCFF Venues including: The Fringe Pop-Up Theater (which is located at the old Lazy Shopper locations at 361 E. Clayton Street), Pixel & Ink’s Trio Gallery, Flanagan’s, The World Famous, Mellow Mushroom, and Flicker Theater & Bar! And of course we will always have it posted right here on our website on our Showcase Schedule page.

Performers & Showcases

Take a look at our list of Performers & Showcases we have lined up this year…. there are some fresh faces joining us for the first time and coming from all corners of Georgia (Atlanta, Rome, Cleveland, Lawrenceville, Augusta, and Macon), Plus some that are traveling from places such as: New Orleans LA, Tallahassee FL, Charlottesville VA, Sapphire NC, and Lancaster PA. We even have a few returning performers from past years who once again wish to share their art with Athens including: Milyssa Rose, dok V, Athens Playwrights’ Workshop, The Badass Storytelling Quartet, and more!

The Classic City Fringe Festival is a big event every year, spanning several days and several venues throughout downtown, and with all these performers it’s easy to get turned around and not know where to go or what to see first. We have tried to make this process as easy as possible by listing showcases in order of when they start. Most showcases are even made of multiple performers grouped together into single showcases. Many of the performers are also scheduled for multiple showcases through out the weekend to allow you freedom to schedule which shows you want to see, and when. This way you don’t have to miss out on any performer just because their show happened at the same time as another show you wanted to see.

Performer Profile Pages

Take the time to skim the schedule and check out all the performers “Profile Pages” by clicking on their name anywhere you see it. On these profiles you will find all showtimes plus tons of other information about each performer including: bios, show descriptions, links to where you can find them online, even a gallery of pictures and video clips to give you a better idea of what you are going to see. Once you know what shows you want to see, find them on the schedule for the day or days you want to see them and plan out your night! Make sure you pay close attention though because some shows have “reserved seating” (like Johnson & Browder Productions’ “What the Woolf Wore” which has to be reserved ahead of time), other shows are roving or busking shows that will happen on the sidewalks in front of venues (like Jeffrey Williams, Nettie Stardust, and Betty Hoop), which you can only catch if you happen to be in the right place at the right time. Your best bet, of course, is to go to EVERY show you can!

Cost Of Shows

Looking at the Showcase Schedule you may also notice that most shows cost from $3 to $10. This is what it will cost per person to enter the show, as decided on by the artists themselves. Each show will collect money at the door, no need to have advance tickets for shows… Although if you would like you can purchase a “CCFF 2017 ALL ACCESS PASS” for only $25 and see all shows for one low price without paying a door fee to get in each show. All Access Passes must be picked up at the Fringe Pop-Up Theater (361 E. Clayton Street) on Friday or Saturday ONLY. We feel it is important to note that 80% of all monies collected from the door at each location and from passes used goes straight to the performers. Paying at the door means more money in these artists’ hands who have worked so hard to bring you these performances.

See You There!

Special thanks to our sponsoring venues (click on the logo for more info, location address, and links):

The Classic City Fringe Festival (now an offical 501c3 Non-Profit in Georgia) has filled the gap left by local festivals, which primarily focus on Music, by presenting an amazing variety of Fringe Artists and Performers from here in Athens GA and around the world. The festival will inspire, challenge, shock, titillate, and of course entertain you with a collection of performances and visuals unlike anything else. Now in our 3rd year and still growing strong, the CCFF team has worked hard to bring our community an amazing event that celebrates and unifies Athens’ Fringe Community of performers and artists with a worldwide Fringe community… and we hope to see you there!
